Robinson isn't the only former 49ers player headed to Dallas as a free agent. The Cowboys have also signed wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who spent part of last season in San Francisco before finishing the year with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Valdes-Scantling recorded four receptions for 40 yards in five games with the 49ers. He later added 10 catches for 80 yards and a touchdown in five games with the Steelers.
Robinson entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford in 2021, signing with the Denver Broncos. After appearing in three games for Denver during his rookie season, he was waived and subsequently signed with the 49ers in December 2021, primarily serving as a core special teams player and backup linebacker.
During the 2025 season, Robinson appeared in 14 games with three starts, recording a career-high 42 tackles (one for a loss). He also registered one pass defensed. Robinson's season was highlighted by a team-high 12-tackle performance in a Week 11 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
Over five NFL seasons, Robinson has appeared in 29 games, totaling 52 tackles. He was named the 49ers' nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award in 2024 and 2025.
